Patti Jo began Rosemaling during the summer of 1980 with an invitation from her mom to join her in a beginner’s class. The same year she fell in love with the flowers and scrolls marked the beginning of married life. Painting and teaching elementary school combined nicely until their family began to grow. It was possible to continue painting after the birth of their first child, but when twins arrived, and then a fourth child, brushes were set aside. Whimsical finger painting replaced the carefully painted strokes. Caring for an active family became the priority. Now, over 20 year later, the kids are leaving the nest, and Patti Jo has picked up her brushes once again.
